Cars in the 80s

In the 1980s cars in the U.S were changing immensely. In previous decades American cars were focused on power and luxury, this can be seen when one looks at the 1960s and 1970s American muscles cars. They were heavy and powerful which resulted in very low gas mileage, compared to the european and asian cars of the same years which had great gas mileage. The U.S car companies saw that these cars were gaining popularity in the U.S which in turn resulted in American car companies to style a lot of their new cars in the 80s after these lighter vehicles. Even Though some cars in the U.S were now lighter and less powerful, the muscle car style was still very popular. Image result for 1980s american cars

  1. In addition, multiple other countries in Asia and Europe started seeing the demand for cars. They realized cars needed to have lower gas mileage and needed to be more efficient. They also realized they could build cars that the majority of consumers would favor over American cars. These other countries were able to achieve this quite successfully with low gas mileage and
