On August 28th, 1963, Martin Luther King Jr. gave his legendary speech, "I have a dream." On it's own, it's a powerful piece of literature, but the context surrounding the speech is what makes it one of the most influential speeches of the 20th century. Performed at the Civil Rights March in Washington D.C., it was one of the defining moments of the movement for African American rights. In the speech, MLK explained his dream (with the famous "I have a dream" rhetoric) that racism will be a relic of the past, with people of all kinds living together in complete harmony.
