80s Fashion
The 1980s was one of the most fashion-fueled decades of U.S history. In the 80s many new fashion styles emerged such as permed hair, bold colors, and ripped jeans. A lot of these fashion styles started because of musicians and models. Also in the 80s hair metal was gaining popularity which had men in tight clothes and makeup. Pop musicians often wore bright bold colors with revealing clothing. Here are some photos of different types of fashion throughout the 80s.

I think its really interesting how fashion in the 80s looks completely alien to most people today. I wonder if they knew how ridiculous it was back then? Will people think the same of the 2010s in the future?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dan- that is very interesting to think about. Obviously if it was ridiculous at that time, they wouldn't be wearing it. But then again, people who lived their prime in the 80s probably think that we look ridiculous too.
