Columbine Shooting

Could the Columbine shooting been stopped?
It is safe to say that the school knew that these students acted out or seemed depressed. Teachers and students interacted with them every day, so why was nothing reported? My assumption is that no one really took that seriously back then because something of this nature hadn't really been done before, but now people are a lot more skeptical and seem to be more aware.
What are your thoughts?

  1. School shooting happened previously to this event. All the previous school shooting happened in the ghettos and not in middle class white communities. When this shooting did occur many were wondering if they missed something or if they were influenced from various things. These influences can be video games or musical artists which were blamed. When in reality none of that was to blame and the kids were sociopaths and depressed.

  2. Hindsight is always 20/20, so I suppose there were many instances that could have prevented the shooting. However, precautions aren't normally taken until something horrible happens, which is why we happen to be learning about this in our classes today.
