Bill Clinton and his Scandals

Bill Clinton was a presidential nominee from the election of 1992, and he had a lot of different scandals surrounding him while he was running. He was accused of being a womanizer and having multiple affairs while married to his wife, Hillary Clinton, and was also accused of dodging the draft of Vietnam. He always had a way to get out of it and come back, calling himself the "comeback kid." When a woman came out and told everyone he had an affair with her for 12 years, he brushed it off and it eventually went out of the spotlight. With the draft dodging claims, he managed to refute them and those eventually were dropped as well. The one scandal that he couldn't worm his way out of was the Monica Lewinsky scandal, where he was unable to prove that he didn't do it, and she said that they did have sexual relations, and Bill Clinton was impeached for Obstruction of Justice and perjury. Should people have done more work to expose the other scandals before? Or would it have been better that they stayed ignored?

  1. I think people should have worked to expose these scandals, as it is important that the American people know what is happening in the white house and with our presidents.

  2. People should have worked harder to expose Bill Clinton's scandals, not only because increased transparency of White House events is beneficial to the public, but also that it would have discouraged Clinton from engaging in more affairs and scandals.

  3. I think that scandals should always be looked into because of the fact that it is the president of the United States. The way that he acts may reflect poorly on our entire country.

  4. The public was obsessed with his scandals. The majority of the public viewed his affair as "entertainment" and found it funny that the media was viewing it as negative. Polls showed his rating actually rose during his affair scandals. It wasn't until he finally admitted his affair but it was too late. He already lied under oath which was enough to be impeached. Since impeachment doesn't always kick him out as being a president he was able to stay as president and finish his term.
