Earlier this week, we watched a documentary about the advancement of technology during the 1980s. From the Walkman, a mobile cassette player to the VCR, new technology changed the foundation for lifestyles in America. New technology made personal lives easier than ever before and products became more mobile, and more affordable especially with the breakthrough of the silicon chip. While this was considered the "tech boom" in America, how about today? With new iPhones, MacBooks, smart watches, and virtual reality, can't we consider this to be a "tech boom" as well?
I think we can definitely consider this moment in history a tech bomb, but based in the previous advancements of our first major tech bomb. The computer is behind many of our advancements and it experienced its true emergence in the 80s so without that technology our self-driving cars, and apple watches, and Ipads, and "the cloud" would not exist and be able to function at the capacity they do today. There is a lot of movements towards "the future of technology" today, but we'll see how it goes!
